Life has been strange since the pandemic hit. The world seemed to be going crazy for a while, with everyone arguing over everything from masks to civil rights. We watched as protests and riots spread across the country and as the United States Capitol was being stormed, and lived through the extremes of a snow storm and freezing temperatures that lasted for days. Just as things seemed to be calming down with the “Do Not Cross Police Line” coming down in front of the Texas State Capitol, a special session was called by the Governor. Now it is Red vs Blue when it comes to voting rights. The Democrats have fled the state and the Republican State Representatives are locked on the House Floor. Is it any wonder I spend my time in Austin searching for beauty in the stately and broken alike? I learned a valuable lesson when I experienced a tremendous loss. I know it is important to grab joy wherever you can find it and I have found it among the chaos.
