Art Studio 670

Gem White, the founder of Studio 670, is a professional artist that divides her time between Woodville and Austin Texas. She loves to squiggle ink and splash watercolor around on the page while her old dog, Slim Shady, rests at her feet. Gem’s most recent solo art show, “Exploring Austin,” was hosted by TLR at 919 Congress Avenue in Downtown Austin during the third special session of the 97th Legislative Session. It showcased her bright, colorful watercolor cityscapes and landscapes. Gem has always been fascinated by street art and her work is inspired by the vitality and looseness of that genre.

Gem knows the act of creating can help us relieve stress, work through grief, express ourselves and find our joy. Art journaling and painting are integral to Gem’s everyday existence. She enjoys sharing her love of art journaling and painting as an instructor of small group classes when she is home on Lake Charmaine. There is fun to be had when a small group of friends get together to create!

Art is not always about pretty things. It’s about who we are,

what happened to us, and how our lives are affected
